PKR gains 8 paisa against USD

August 05, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 8.31 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.57 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.66.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.65 and a low (ask) of 282.55.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.00 for buying and 285.50 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 54.82 paisa or 0.17% against the Euro, closing at 326.20 compared to the previous value of 326.75.
Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 27.98 paisa or 0.07% to 374.93 compared to 375.21 a day ago.
The local unit strengthened 59.93 paisa or 0.17% against Swiss franc to close at 349.05.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value deteriorated 0.64 paisa or 0.33% to close the session at 1.9175 versus 1.9111 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee strengthened 6.99 paisa or 0.18% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.31 from 39.38.
The local currency gained by 2.82 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 75.32. While it strengthened by 2.37 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.93.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 1.19 rupees or 0.42%. While it has deteriorated 4.02 rupees or 1.42% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 2bps to 10.80% and 11.05%.
