PKR gains 3 paisa against USD

September 02, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 3.14 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.72 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.75.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.3 and a low (ask) of 283.6.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.80 for buying and 283.60 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 2.18 rupees or 0.66% against the Euro, closing at 328.03 compared to the previous value of 330.21.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 4.00 rupees or 1.05% to 377.17 compared to 381.17 a day ago.

The local unit gained 1.95 rupees or 0.55% against Swiss franc to close at 350.49.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 2.02 paisa or 1.06% to close the session at 1.8944 versus 1.9146 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee strengthened 9.74 paisa or 0.25% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.40 from 39.50.

The local currency rose by 1.04 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.07. While it strengthened by 0.85 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.70.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 2.04 rupees or 0.73%. While it has decreased 3.17 rupees or 1.13% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.79% and 11.04%.
