PKR gains 10 paisa per USD

July 11, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 10.34 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 284.46 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 284.56.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284.60 and a low (ask) of 284.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 285.50 for buying and 287.00 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 1.49 rupees or 0.45% against the Euro, closing at 332.39 compared to the previous value of 333.88.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 2.33 rupees or 0.60% to 384.97 compared to 387.30 a day ago.

The local unit appreciated 1.34 rupees or 0.37% against Swiss franc to close at 356.94.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 0.84 paisa or 0.43% to close the session at 1.9365 versus 1.9449 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 1.80 paisa or 0.05% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.67 from 39.65.

The local currency increased by 2.35 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 75.85. While it gained by 2.81 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.45.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has deteriorated against the US Dollar by 69.49 paisa or 0.24%. While it has decreased 5.91 rupees or 2.08% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.78% and 11.03%.
