PKR falls 25 paisa against USD

July 07, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 25.22 paisa or 0.09% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 284.22 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.97.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284.5 and a low (ask) of 286.65.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.50 for buying and 286.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 56.99 paisa or 0.17% against the Euro, closing at 333.82 compared to the previous value of 334.39.

Against the British Pound, PKR strengthened by 1.36 rupees or 0.35% to 386.65 compared to 388.01 a day ago.

The local unit increased 80.66 paisa or 0.23% against Swiss franc to close at 356.95.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 0.98 paisa or 0.50% to close the session at 1.9578 versus 1.9676 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee strengthened 1.20 paisa or 0.03% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.62 from 39.63.

The local currency decreased by 6.52 paisa or 0.09% against Saudi Riyal to 75.78. While it deteriorated by 6.87 paisa or 0.09% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.38.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 45.50 paisa or 0.16%. While it has fell 5.67 rupees or 1.99% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.75% and 11.00%.
