Car sales rise around 80% in July 2026

August 11, 2026 (MLN): The sales of cars, including LCVs, vans, and jeeps, in Pakistan increased by 79.6% in July 2026, clocking in at 19,818 units compared to 11,034 units recorded in the same month of last year, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.

Conversely, on a month-on-month basis, auto sales have decreased by 12.9% compared to the 22,741 cars sold in June 2026.

To note, car sales surged 39.4% in FY26, with cumulative sales of cars, LCVs, vans, and jeeps reaching 206,436 units compared to 148,042 units in FY25.

Of the total, passenger car sales stood at 17,216 units in July 2026, while sales of jeeps and pickups contributed the remaining 2,602 units during the month.

The data showed that the maximum number of passenger car sales was made within the '1300cc and Above' category at 9,066 units in July 2026.

Toyota (Corolla, Yaris & Corolla Cross) led sales in this category with 4,283 units, followed by Honda Cars (Civic & City) with 2,529 units, Suzuki Swift with 2,018 units, Hyundai Elantra with 211 units, and Hyundai Sonata with 25 units.

The second highest number of sales was made within the 'Below 1000cc' category at 7,710 units during the review month.

Suzuki Alto led sales in this category with 7,217 units, followed by Suzuki Every with 493 units.

Moreover, the '1000cc' segment witnessed sales of 392 units in July 2026, with Suzuki Cultus accounting for the entire segment's sales. Suzuki WagonR, which has been discontinued, recorded no sales during the month.

In the electric vehicle space, Dewan Honri-Ve recorded sales of 48 units in July 2026, up from 24 units in the same month last year.

Within the jeeps and pickups segment, Toyota (Fortuner & IMVs) led sales with 806 units, followed by Haval/Tank Sazgar with 663 units, JAC Pickup's Ghandhara with 357 units, Hyundai Porter with 286 units,

Hyundai Tucson with 171 units, Jetour United Motors with 133 units, Honda BR-V & HR-V with 111 units, Isuzu D-Max with 44 units, Hyundai Santa Fe with 17 units, and Dewan Kia Shehzore with 14 units.

Fronx Suzuki, a newly added entrant in the category, did not record any sales during the month.
