Finance Minister conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz

August 16, 2026 (MLN): Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, has been conferred the prestigious Nishan-i-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s highest civilian award, in recognition of his distinguished public service.

The national honour recognizes Aurangzeb’s leadership and contribution to Pakistan’s economic reform journey, including efforts to strengthen macroeconomic stability, restore investor and market confidence, and advance key economic reforms.

During his tenure as Finance Minister, Aurangzeb has played a key role in steering the country’s economic policy agenda, with a focus on fiscal consolidation, economic stability, structural reforms, and strengthening engagement with international financial institutions.

The Nishan-i-Imtiaz was announced on Independence Day, August 14, 2026, as part of the national honours announced by the government. The investiture ceremony will be held on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2027.

The recognition marks a significant national acknowledgement of Aurangzeb’s leadership and contribution to Pakistan’s economic reform and public service.
