Worker remittances rises to $3.6bn in July

August 10, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan received workers' remittances of $3.63bn in July 2026, up 4.5% from $3.47bn in June 2026, and up 13% on a yearly basis from $3.21bn in July 2025, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

On a historic one month basis, total remittances came in at $3.63bn, up from $3.21bn in SPLY.

Saudi Arabia retained the top position as the largest contributor to workers' remittances in July 2026, with inflows totalling $913.9mn, up 10.2% from $829.7mn in June 2026, and up 11% from $823.7mn in July 2025.

The UAE remained in second place, with inflows of $737.3mn, down 6.9% month-on-month from $792.2mn in June 2026, but up 10.8% from $665.3mn in July 2025. Within the UAE, Dubai contributed $575.5mn, Abu Dhabi $135.4mn, Sharjah $14.2mn, and other emirates $12.2mn.

The United Kingdom (UK) held on to third place, contributing $555.5mn, up 7.9% from June's $514.9mn, and up 23.4% from $450.3mn in July 2025.

Remittances from the United States (USA) stood at $317.2mn, up 7% from $296.4mn in the previous month, and up 17.7% from $269.6mn in July 2025.

Workers' remittances from European Union (EU) countries reached $462.1mn, up 11.2% from May's $415.4mn, and up 8.9% from $424.4mn in July 2025. Among EU member states, Italy led with $142.5mn, followed by Spain $82.8mn, Germany $68.1mn, Greece $51.3mn, France $47.6mn, Ireland $24mn, Belgium $17.3mn, Denmark $8.3mn, Sweden $10.9mn, and the Netherlands $9.3mn.

Other GCC countries (excluding Saudi Arabia and UAE) contributed $336.1mn, up 4.8% from the previous month, and up 13.5% from $296mn in July 2025. Key contributors included Oman $109.4mn, Kuwait $77.7mn, Qatar $98mn, and Bahrain $51.1mn.

Among other notable countries, Australia sent $83.3mn, Canada $64.4mn, South Africa $22.6mn, Japan $6.7mn, South Korea $9.9mn, Norway $12.5mn, Malaysia $13.5mn, Switzerland $3.8mn, and other countries contributed $92.4mn.
