August 11, 2026 (MLN): Net savings mobilized through National Savings Schemes (NSS) closed FY2025-26 at Rs292.6bn on a cumulative basis, according to data released by the Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) and compiled by the State Bank of Pakistan.

June 2026, the final month of the fiscal year, contributed a net Rs23.6bn, a rebound from the Rs18.4bn recorded in May and a return closer to the levels seen through much of the second half of the fiscal year.

Breaking Down the June Numbers

The Defence Savings Certificates (DSC) segment registered a net outflow of Rs2.9bn in June, a sharp deterioration from the Rs96m outflow seen in both April and May and the segment's largest single-month redemption of the fiscal year.

DSCs closed FY2025-26 in negative territory at Rs15.1bn on a cumulative basis, extending the persistent redemption pressure that has defined the instrument through much of the year.

Regular Income Certificates (RIC) contributed a net Rs5bn in June, up from Rs2.4bn in May and RIC's strongest monthly print since March.

RIC ended FY2025-26 as the strongest named contributor to mobilization, with cumulative net inflows of Rs56.8bn for the full fiscal year.

Special Savings Certificates (SSC) returned to net inflow territory in June at Rs567m, reversing the Rs91m outflow recorded in May. SSCs closed the fiscal year with a cumulative net inflow of Rs13.4bn.

Prize Bonds mobilized a net Rs662m in June, down from Rs1.7bn in May and the segment's softest month of the fiscal year.

On a cumulative FY2025-26 basis, Prize Bonds contributed Rs24.2bn in net terms.

The Others category, comprising instruments including Bahbood Savings Certificates, Pensioners' Benefit Accounts, Shuhada Family Welfare Accounts, and short-duration savings accounts, remained the largest contributor in June at Rs20.2bn, up from Rs14.5bn in May. For the full fiscal year, Others accounted for the lion's share of total mobilization at Rs213.2bn.
