PKR closes almost flat at 281.45 against USD

September 22, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained 0.73 paisa against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.45 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 281.46.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.50 and a low (ask) of 281.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.20 for buying and 282.50 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 19.16 paisa or 0.06% against the Euro, closing at 330.72 compared to the previous value of 330.91.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 12.25 paisa or 0.03% to 379.44 compared to 379.56 a day ago.

The local unit increased 32.08 paisa or 0.09% against Swiss franc to close at 353.76.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.10 paisa or 0.05% to close the session at 1.9009 versus 1.9019 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee rose 2.02 paisa or 0.05% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.55 from 39.57.

The local currency gained by 0.40 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.04. While it increased by 0.20 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.63.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 2.31 rupees or 0.82%. While it has fell 2.90 rupees or 1.03% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.81% and 11.06%.
