August 12, 2025 (MLN): Car sales in Pakistan, including light commercial vehicles (LCVs), vans, and jeeps, rose 28.5% YoY in July 2025 to 11,034 units from 8,589 units a year earlier, according to data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) on Tuesday.

The jump came after a strong performance in June, when sales surged 63.9% to 21,773 units compared with 13,284 units in the same month of 2024.

However, on a month-on-month basis, July’s figures marked a steep 49.3% decline from June, reflecting a slowdown after June’s seasonal peak.

In June, auto sales increased 47.1% from May’s 14,802 units, driven by improved supply chain conditions and robust demand ahead of potential price adjustments.

Cumulatively, in the fiscal year ended June 2025, sales stood at 147,935 units, up 42.5% from 103,828 units in FY24, indicating a notable recovery in Pakistan’s auto sector after months of suppressed demand due to high inflation and interest rates.
