Car sales rise 35% in May

June 12, 2025 (MLN): The sales of cars, including LCVs, vans, and jeeps, in Pakistan increased by 35.2% in May 2025, clocking in at 14,802 units compared to 10,949 units recorded in the same month of last year, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.

Similarly, on a month-on-month basis, auto sales have increased by 39.7% compared to the 10,596 cars sold in April 2025.

Cumulatively, in 11MFY25, sales clocked in at 126,162 units, around 39.3% higher compared to 90,544 units sold in 11MFY24.

The data released by PAMA further showed that the maximum number of passenger car sales was made within the ‘1300cc and Above’ category at 6,778 units in May 2025.

Within this category, Toyota (Corolla & Yaris) recorded the highest sales at 3,814 units, followed by Honda Cars (Civic & City) with sales of 1,870 units, Suzuki Swift with 792 units, and Hyundai Elantra with 180 units.

The second highest number of sales was made within the ‘Below 1000cc’ category at 3,865 units during the review month.

Suzuki Bolan led sales in this category with units, followed by the Suzuki Alto with 3,409 units.

Moreover, the '1000 cc' segment witnessed a sale of 476 units in May 2025.

In this category, Suzuki Cultus recorded the highest sales at 252 units, followed by Suzuki WagonR with sales of 224 units.
