Arif Habib consortium joins race for PIA privatisation

July 09, 2025 (MLN): Arif Habib Corporation Limited (PSX: AHCL), as the Lead Member of a consortium, has submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) and Statement of Qualification (SOQ) to the Privatisation Commission of Pakistan (PC) for participation in the privatisation process of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL).

According to Press Release issued by the Privatisation Commission and published on its official website, the consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation Limited (AHCL) has been pre-qualified to participate in the bidding process.

The consortium includes Arif Habib Corporation Limited, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, City Schools (Private) Limited, and Lake City Holdings (Private) Limited.

A total of four parties, including three other companies/consortia, have been declared pre-qualified, the notification issued to the local bourse.

The pre-qualified parties will now enter the buy-side due diligence phase, which is a critical step in the competitive and transparent privatisation process of PIACL.

The consortium's continued participation will depend on the results of this due diligence and further guidance from its Board of Directors.

AHCL affirmed its commitment to timely disclosure of all material and price-sensitive information, subject to confidentiality and national interest considerations, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
