Weekly SPI increases by 1.65 percent

February 1, 2019 (MLN): Pakistan’s weekly SPI for the combined group increased by 1.65 percent compared to the previous week (Jan 24, 2019) and increased by 8.89 percent compared to the corresponding period from last year (Feb 01, 2018).
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the largest weekly SPI growth was recorded in the Highest Income group (Above 35,000) which increased by 2.62 percent on weekly basis and 13.47 percent year on year.
The smallest income group (up to Rs.8,000) witnessed a weekly increase of 0.64 percent and a yearly increase of 5.26 percent.
The comparative prices of the 53 monitored items showed an increase in the average price of 15 items with 9 registering a decrease and 29 remaining unchanged.
