CPI Preview: Inflation to fall to around 17% YoY in April

Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs4.3bn

April 19, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended April 12, 2024 clocked in at Rs4.3bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs14.19bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs14.5bn, which is around 13.67% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs18.79bn, which is 30.25% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs4.3bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs8.15bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs1.74bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs12.46bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs8.2bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs25.25bn, which marks a rise of Rs893m over the week.
