CPI Preview: Inflation to fall to around 17% YoY in April

Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs14.19bn

April 04, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended March 28, 2024 clocked in at Rs14.19bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs8.32bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs12.75bn, which is around 103.16% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs26.95bn, which is 84.57% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs14.19bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs12.35bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs6.48bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs4.26bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs562.39m.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs24.36bn, which marks a decline of Rs10.37bn over the week.
