USA remains the top export destination of Pakistani products in FY19

July 22, 2019 (MLN): The United States of America (USA) remained the top export destination of the Pakistani products in FY19, followed by China and United Kingdom (UK).

The total exports to the USA during FY19 were recorded at $4 billion against the exports of $3.8 billion in FY18, showing an increase of 4 percent during the period, according to the latest data released by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

This was followed by China, wherein Pakistan exported goods worth $1.85 billion against the exports of $1.75 billion last year, showing growth of 5.6 percent.

UK was the at third where Pakistan exported products worth $1.75 in FY19 against the exports of $1.77 billion during last fiscal year, marking a decline of 1.1 percent, SBP data revealed.

Among other countries, Pakistani exports to UAE stood at $1.37 billion against $1.38 billion during last year, while the exports to Germany were recorded at $1.3 billion against $1,36 billion last year, depicting a decline of 4 percent.

The exports to Afghanistan were declined by 20. 4 percent to $1.2 billion against $1.5 billion whereas the exports to Netherlands (Holland) were recorded at $946.7 million against $779.4 million last year, showing an increase of 21 percent.

Pakistan’s exports to Bangladesh were recorded at $742.9 million against $727.2 million last year, showing a slight increase of 2 percent. Whereas, the exports to Italy during the period under review were recorded at $804.9 million against $769 million last year, depicting an increase of 4.5 percent.

Similarly, the exports to Saudi Arabia stood at $ 327.8 million against $317.5 million, while the exports to India during the period under review were declined by 25 percent to $312 million against $419.7 in FY18.
