US Unemployment Rate 3.6%, Non-Farm Payrolls Added 209k Jobs

July 07, 2023 (MLN): The U.S. unemployment rate for the month of June fell to 3.6%, while non-farm payrolls (NFP) added 209,000 jobs for the said month.

NFP, which shows the number of jobs created in the U.S. excluding farm workers, added lesser jobs than the market analysts' expectations of 230,000 jobs.

Unemployment rate fell by 0.1% MoM as compared to 3.7% in the previous month, and came in line with the market analysts' expectations of 3.6%.

NFP is a key indicator of the U.S. labor market performance.

Moreover, the NFP were revised for April down by 77,000, from 294,000 jobs to 217,000 jobs.

Similarly, May data was revised down by 33,000, from 339,000 jobs to 306,000 jobs.
