Urea offtake decreases by 74.4% YoY during October 2019

November 26, 2019: Urea offtake during the month of October 2019 stood at 119 thousand tonnes, recording a decrease of 74.4 percent over October 2018.

As per records maintained by the National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), About 698 thousand tonnes of different fertilizer products were manufactured in Pakistan during the month of October 2019, with the major share being taken by urea (76.6 percent) with 535 thousand tonnes.

The offtake of urea decreased in all four provinces. It decreased by 77, 74, 71 and 8 percent in Punjab, Sindh, KP, and Balochistan respectively.

Total urea availability during October 2019 was about 1005 thousand tonnes, which comprised of 470 thousand tonnes leftover of the previous month and 535 thousand tonnes of domestic production. The offtake of urea was 119 thousand tonnes, leaving a balance of 887 thousand tonnes of urea for November 2019.
