Two new radars being installed in Karachi, Islamabad to improve weather forecasting

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Two new radars are being installed in Karachi and Islamabad to improve medium range forecast in the country.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) sources four other projects worth 19 billion rupees under China Pakistan Economic Corridor are also under process to introduce latest technology in the forecasting system.

Currently, Met office is covering 97 districts of the country through existing equipment and remaining 40 will be covered through the new projects.
