Total Car Sales during July – Dec FY ’18 increase by 20.40%

According to the data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturer’s Association, Total Car Sales during July – Dec FY ’18 increase by 20.40%.

6 – Month, Fiscal Year 2018 Sales

Barring Toyota Corolla, all of the passenger cars in the 800cc category and above registered an increase in sales. Honda (Civic & City) models total sales for the first half year of the Fiscal Year 2018 clocked in at 19,621 units against 16,571 units during the same period last year; 18.4% increase.

Toyota has had a rough half year in sales, as people’s taste shift towards more youthful Honda Models. Total units sold during the first half of year Fiscal Year 2018 clocked in at 25,768 units; a slump of 1.7% – 443 units sold less than the FY 2017 first half year figures.

The market leader, Suzuki saw a rise in sales for Swift Models as well. With total units for the six months clocking in at 2,141 against 2,113 units same period last year, whereas sales for Cultus and WagonR models in the 1000cc category also saw growth in sales. With Suzuki Cultus total units sold clocking in at 9,501 units and WagonR units 14,141 in total, an increase of 33.7% and 86.92% respectively.

In 1000cc and below category, Suzuki Mehran sales also saw a sharp rise during the first half of FY ’18. Total Units Sold clocked in at 22,219 against last year’s tally of 17,167; a rise of 29.4% for the cumulative period.

In other numbers, Total Buses and Trucks (Hino, Nissan, Master, and Isuzu) saw a rise in total units sold as well, with total units sold at 4,562 against 3,881 during the same period last year the segment posts a growth of 17.5%.

Total Motorcycles and Three-Wheelers units during the first six months of FY ’18 posted the most outstanding growth of 19.11% with total units sold increasing by 151,092.
