Textile exports jump by 21% YoY to $1.65bn in March: APTMA

April 06, 2022 (MLN): The exports of textile products in March 2022 have increased by 21% YoY to $1.65 billion as compared to $1.36bn in March 2021, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) informed recently.

The year-on-year increase in exports is due to strong demand in the West before the summer season, while other factors include the resumption of economic activity, which has led to a shortage of various retail brands, competitive utilities and borrowing rates.

However, on a sequential basis, the textile exports have dropped by 2.3% MoM, compared to $1.69bn in February 2022.

Cumulatively, the exports of textile witnessed an upsurge of 26% YoY to clock in at $14.26bn in 9MFY22 compared to $11.36bn in 9MFY21.
