Textile exports decrease by 12% YoY in September: APTMA

October 04, 2023 (MLN): Textile exports in the month of September 2023 slumped by 12% YoY to $1.35 billion, compared to $1.53bn in September 2022, according to the statistics released by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) on Wednesday.

Similarly, on a sequential basis, textile exports decreased by 7.5% MoM as compared to $1.46bn recorded in the previous month.

Within 1QFY24, the exports of textiles stood at $4.12bn, decreasing by 10.2% YoY compared to 4.59bn in 1QFY23.

To recall, Pakistan's total exports in the month of September increased by 4.18% MoM to $2.47bn compared to $2.37bn in August 2023, as per the data reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on October 02.

Meanwhile, compared to September 2022, exports inched up by 1.15% YoY.
