May 22, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan has emphasized the importance of expanding institutional cooperation and sharing administrative expertise with friendly nations, with particular focus on strengthening civil service linkages with Bangladesh.

The emphasis was made on enhancing engagement between the civil services of the two countries to promote mutual understanding, trust, and improved governance practices through sustained professional collaboration, according to APP.

During interactions with a visiting group of senior Bangladeshi civil service officers, it was highlighted that both countries share long-standing historical ties as well as a common legacy in administrative systems, which can be further leveraged through structured exchange programmes.

Attaullah Tarar noted that ongoing reform initiatives and policy measures across various sectors in Pakistan reflect a broader agenda of institutional strengthening and modernization.

He described the Executive Development Programme between Pakistan and Bangladesh civil services as a significant development in recent years, adding that such exchanges play an important role in deepening bilateral cooperation.

The discussions covered governance systems, administrative reforms, institutional capacity building, and opportunities for joint professional development.

The need to enhance collaboration between training institutions through faculty exchanges, joint research, and development of training modules was also stressed.

Tariq Fatemi highlighted that sustained institutional engagement is essential for improving regional harmony and fostering mutual understanding between the two countries.

Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil and Syed Shabbir Akbar Zaidi also briefed the participants on ongoing training frameworks, modernized course structures, and capacity-building initiatives under the Civil Services Academy, including programmes aligned with the Pakistan–Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.

The visiting officers expressed keen interest in Pakistan’s administrative reforms and training systems, terming the exchange programme a useful platform for professional learning and cooperation.

The engagement concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing optimism that continued institutional collaboration would further strengthen bilateral relations and administrative excellence.
