SIFC sets up 7 desks to attract global investment: Attaullah Tarar

May 27, 2024 (MLN): Seven desks have been established under the Special Investment Facilitation Council to attract investment from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, China, the European Union, the US, and Far East, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated while addressing a news conference in Islamabad today.

During the conference, he said that investors from friendly countries are expressing their satisfaction with the one-window facility being provided by the SIFC.

Moreover, he highlighted UAE's announcement to make an investment worth $10 billion in Pakistan while there is also progress in bringing $5bn investment from Saudi Arabia. He was confident that these investments would materialize.

The Information Minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also visit China in a few days to give impetus to China Pakistan Economic Corridor project. 

Attaullah Tarar stated that the country's economy is taking off, referring to the drop in the Current Account Deficit and inflation, while IT exports are witnessing a surge.

He pointed out that world financial institutions are also acknowledging our economic revival.

The Information Minister regretted the posture of a particular political party saying its narrative is based on enmity against the country. 

He said the narrative of this party will not succeed and Pakistan will continue its journey towards development.
