February 15, 2021 (MLN): Pakistan has seen a substantial increase in the interest of entrepreneurs to register their businesses with SECP as the total registration of companies in Pakistan has increased by 24% YoY from 16,456 in CY19 to 20,342 companies during CY2020.
When compared to 2018, companies’ registration increased by 54% in 2020. In January 2021, a total of 2,201 companies were registered with SECP which is up by 12% as compared to the previous month
This was informed by Adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment, Abdul Razaq Dawood on Monday.
In a series of Tweets today, he said “We are glad to share that as a result of the reforms in the past 2.5 years and subsequent improvement of Pakistan’s EODB ranking, the registration of companies in Pakistan has increased. During the calendar year 2020, a total of 20,342 companies were registered.”
This is a healthy trend and the SECP & BOI deserve credit for making this possible, he added.
He further urged Investors to take advantage of the ease in company registration offered by SECP to formalize their businesses.
