SCRA balance decreases by Rs.9.82 billion over the week

February 14, 2020 (MLN): Foreign Investors continued to be net buyers during the week ended on February 07, 2020, as the total purchase of securities outweighed total sale by nearly Rs. 22.024 billion.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs.39.2 billion, which is around 61.9 percent lower than the figures recorded last week. Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.61.3 billion, which is 53.4 percent lower than the prior week.

Consequently, the net purchase of securities for the week ended February 07, 2020 clocked in at Rs.22.02 billion, i.e. around Rs.6.63 billion lower than last week's numbers.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities declined by Rs.70.29 billion while the net sale of securities tumbled by Rs.63.66 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.19.15 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.6.9 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.29.66 billion, which marks a decline of Rs.9.82 billion over the week.
