SBP to announce Monetary policy next week

State Bank of Pakistan likely to announce monetary policy next week on March 30, the second last of the current fiscal year.

The central bank will likely announce the monetary policy next week where analysts believe that interest rate may climb up by 25 to 50 basis points following recent slide in the rupee versus greenback. Rupee in last three and half months has depreciated by 9.5 percent. Rupee has further room but State Bank would keep a close eye on any sharp movement.

At the last monetary policy announcement the SBP raised the rate by 25 basis points to 6 percent.
