SBP pushes up policy rate by 50 bps to 10.75 percent

March 29, 2019 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan has pushed up the policy rate by 50 basis points bringing it to 10.75% for the next two months.

A meeting of the monetary policy committee (MPC) took place in Islamabad today, whereby the committee took the aforesaid decision which was in line with the markets’ expectation of a 50-75 bps hike.

The announced policy rate will be applicable from April 1, 2019.
