SBP opens PM’s Flood Relief Fund Account for donations

August 25, 2022 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has opened the “Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund Account, 2022” for the collection of donations/contributions for the affected population due to torrential rains and flash floods in many parts of the country.

As per the circular issued by SBP, all the commercial and microfinance banks shall open the account of the Fund and shall receive donations/contributions in cash, through cheques, pay orders and demand drafts, at all their branches across the country.

Donations can be made digitally via IBFT/ RAAST.

Roshan Digital Account (RDA) holders can donate funds by clicking the PM Flood Relief Fund icon on the Roshan Samaji Khidmat page of their RDA bank. Overseas Pakistanis can also donate through wire transfers or Money Transfer Operators/exchange companies in their countries of residence.

To note, on the directives of the federal government, the Flood Relief Fund has been established for providing relief and rehabilitation to the affected population due to torrential rains and flash floods in many parts of the country.  

The fund will be administered by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) while the Accountant General Pakistan revenue will maintain accounts of the Fund.
