SBP Governor, Dr Reza Baqir, promises support to IT sector in a meeting with P@SHA delegation

December 24, 2019: P@SHA Chairman Shahzad Shahid and other CEC Members including Abbas Khan, Shamim Rajani, Sultan Hamdani and Zohaib Khan met the Governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr. Reza Baqir and his senior team.

Governor welcomed the recommendations made by the P@SHA delegation and assured of their support to the industry for improving the business environment and growth of the sector.

The meeting had the following agenda points:

1. Affordable access to finance and alternate to requirement of business owners personal assets as collateral against the loan.

2. Retention of 35% of the forex remittances in foreign currency and its usage.

3. Challenges in sending payments outside Pakistan and investments abroad.

4. SBP support in 5% cash rewards on export remittances.

5. Engagement of local IT industry for their role in achieving objectives of MPG and NPSS

6. Policies for Freelancers.

SBP officials are ready to entertain individual cases of the companies through their designated complaints cells for forex related cases and otherwise.
