Sale of passenger cars declines by 5.6% in June, YoY

July 11, 2019 (MLN): Over 14.7 thousand passenger car units were sold during the month of June 2019, as per a report by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturer’s Association (PAMA). The cumulative sale of passenger cars during the year ending June 2019 were reported to be 207.6 thousand.

On a month-on-month basis, the sale of passenger cars plunged by 4.3%, whereas on a year-on-year basis, the figure declined by 5.66%.

The maximum number of sales were made within the category of +1300cc engine cars at 7,074 units. Within this category, Toyota Corolla recorded the maximum sales of 4,406 units. The next best seller within this category was Honda, as it sold 2,106 units during the period.

The 1000cc car category sold 3,614 units against the production of 3,428 units. Meanwhile, over 4,079 units of cars below 1000cc engine were sold against a production of 2,501 units.
