October 12, 2018 (MLN): Sale of motor bikes and three wheelers in the country during the period July-Sept has decreased by 31.78 percent as 454,607 units were sold this year compared to the sale of 469532 units during same period last year.
However, the motor bike and three wheelers' sale during the month of September increased by 12.52% as 163,700 units were sold in 2018 compared to 145,482 units of the same month last year.
According to report issued by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturing Association (PAMA), Honda bikes witnessed the highest sales amongst its competitors.
However, its sales fell by 0.85 per cent as it dropped to 266,029 units in Jul-Sept 2018 from 268,309 units in the same period of previous year.
United Auto Motorcycle took the second lead in terms of sales as it sold 109,512 units in July-Sept this year as compared to 98,512 units during the same period last year, exhibiting an increase of 11.16 percent.
Road Prince Motorcycles' sale fell by 28.78 percent to 45,247 units during the period under review against the sale of 63,540 units in same period of previous year.
The sale of Yamaha motorcycles also increased to 6,285 units in Jul-Sep 2018 from 5,007 units in same period of previous year thus registering an increase of 25.52 percent.
Similarly, sale of Suzuki bikes also witnessed an increase of 12.88 percent as it increased to 5,660 units in July-Sept 2018 from 5,014 units in same period of previous year.
Sale of Ravi bikes went down to 5,508 units this year against sale of 7,725 units in same period of previous year, posting a decrease of 28.69 percent.
Qinqi three wheelers' sale posted a slight decrease of 0.89 percent as it dropped to 5,566 units compared to 5,616 units last year.
