Sakrand Sugar Mills to conduct BMR for enhancing capacity to 95% from 40%

Sakrand Sugar Mills Limited has announced its intention of conducting the Balancing, Modernization and Replacement (BMR) for its Mill in a Board Meeting held on July 23, 2018.

According to the company, once completed, the BMR will result in an enhancement of its crushing capacity from 7000 TCD operating at 37% – 40% capacity at the moment, to 8000 TCD operating at 90% – 95% capacity by 2018-19 season.

Further more, expected sugar production would rise to 86,400 MT compared to 39,660 MT of season 2017-18, while expected molasses production would rise to 43,200 MT compared to 26,047 MT of season 2017-18.

The planned CAPEX will cost Rs 150 million along with an additional provisioning for Rs 50 million.

Main contracts for capacity enhancement and modernization have been awarded to Heavy Mechanical Complex, Taxila along with numerous other leading companies for ancillary machineries.

The company also reported that for the season 2019-20, it plans to add “Mill Max” machines to increase the crushing to 12,000 TCD.
