Rs.1.20 billion spent on 129 highways schemes

February 26, 2019: An amount of Rs.1.20 billion has so far been spent on 129 ongoing development schemes of the provincial highways department in Sargodha division.

This was disclosed at a meeting held with Commissioner Sargodha Zafar Iqbal in the chair in his office on Tuesday. Various ongoing development schemes of highway department in the division were reviewed in the meeting.

During the financial year 2018-19, a sum of Rs.1.99 billion was allocated for the ongoing 129 development schemes of Highway department, out of which 1.54 billion were released.

The meeting was told that out of the total 129 development projects of highway department, 74 schemes were of Sargodha, 18 of Khushab, 17 of Mianwali while 20 development projects of Bhakhar district. About 74 percent work of the schemes has been completed.

The meeting was briefed that during the year 2018-19; Rs.920 million more will be spent in Khushab, Rs.190 million in Mianwali, Rs 170.5 million in Bhakhar and Rs.250 million will be spent on the ongoing projects in Sargodha district.

An amount of Rs.120 million was spent on 15 projects of Sugarcane Development Fund in Khushab and Sargodha districts, where almost 54% work has so far been completed, the meeting was further briefed.

Director Development Qadeer Ahamd, SE Highways and Executive Engineers of all the four districts including Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakhar and Khushab attended the meeting.
