January 07, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 116,052.68, showing a decrease of 202.44 points or 0.17%.

The index traded in a range of 3,165.91 points showing an intraday high of 116,843.41 (+588.29) and a low of 113,677.50 (-2,577.62) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 401.23 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 37 closed up, 61 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PGLC (-10.00%), ATRL (-6.82%), MEHT (-6.53%), HGFA (-5.04%), and NRL (-4.29%).

On the other hand, top gainers were ENGROH (+10.00%), JDWS (+10.00%), TRG (+7.31%), LCI (+4.71%), and MLCF (+3.29%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were EFERT (-177.61pts), FFC (-70.59pts), HBL (-68.10pts), ATRL (-67.70pts), and PSO (-48.90pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were ENGROH (+270.44pts), OGDC (+104.92pts), TRG (+60.67pts), MEBL (+56.62pts), and HUBC (+36.11pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-259.79pts), Commercial Banks (-189.54pts), Refinery (-82.67pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-75.33pts), and Textile Composite (-42.25pts).

While the index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+247.40pts), Technology & Communication (+86.80pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+67.25pts), Cement (+65.16pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (+34.46pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 71,761.59 with a net loss of 212.30 points or 0.29%.

Total market volume was 792.77 million shares compared to 819.81m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs39.69 billion showing an increase of Rs1.37bn.

There were 382,852 trades reported in 453 companies with 133 closing up, 275 closing down, and 45 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 37,608 points or 47.94% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 926 points or 0.80% so far this calendar year.
