November 29, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 101,357.32, showing an increase of 1,274.55 points or 1.27%.

The index traded in a range of 1,673.56 points showing an intraday high of 101,496.17 (+1,413.40) and a low of 99,822.61 (-260.16) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 454.63 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 71 closed up, 26 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were JVDC (+10.01%), SRVI (+10.00%), SEARL (+9.89%), AKBL (+9.70%), and UNITY (+7.11%).

On the other hand, top losers were TRG (-2.84%), PGLC (-2.22%), JDWS (-2.08%), MLCF (-1.43%), and NCPL (-1.43%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were PPL (+90.78pts), SRVI (+84.50pts), BAFL (+79.77pts), ENGRO (+75.61pts), and SEARL (+69.57pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were HUBC (-23.77pts), TRG (-21.52pts), FFC (-17.78pts), EFERT (-17.23pts), and POL (-15.07pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+468.19pts), Pharmaceuticals (+172.53pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+143.45pts), Leather & Tanneries (+84.50pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (+68.75pts).

While the index was let down by Miscellaneous (-7.44pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (-3.51pts), Chemical (-3.18pts), Close - End Mutual Fund (-0.26pts), and Leasing Companies (-0.08pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 63,920.43 with a net gain of 837.30 points or 1.33%.

Total market volume was 915.51 million shares compared to 1,164.79m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs35.98 billion showing a decrease of Rs3.80bn.

There were 367,365 trades reported in 454 companies with 265 closing up, 137 closing down, and 52 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 22,912 points or 29.21% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 38,906 points or 62.30% so far this calendar year.
