May 27, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index ended Monday's trading session at 75,517.49 showing a decrease of 465.55 points or 0.61%.
The index traded in a range of 701.83 points showing an intraday high of 76,187.45 (+204.41) and a low of 75,485.62 (-497.41) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 195.3 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 25 closed up, 69 closed down, 5 were unchanged, while 1 remained untraded.
KSE-100 index was let down by Fertilizer (109.11pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (100.99pts), Cement (68.08pts), Power Generation & Distribution (65.83pts), and Commercial Banks (46.69pts).
On the flip-side, the index was supported by Technology & Communication (24.55pts), Leather & Tanneries (18.05pts), Miscellaneous (14.05pts), Insurance (5.15pts), and Tobacco (3.7pts).
Companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (75.05pts), MCB (51.88pts), PPL (49.97pts), OGDC (44.76pts), and BAFL (29.37pts).
On the other hand, companies that added points to the index were FABL (37.92pts), HBL (27.82pts), SYS (27.09pts), SRVI (18.05pts), and PSEL (16.55pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 48,909.84 with a net loss of 294.76 points.
Total market volume was 446.07 million shares compared to 609.85m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs16.41 billion showing a decrease of Rs7.18bn.
There were 210,440 trades reported in 405 companies with 123 closing up, 230 closing down and 52 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 34,065 points or 82.18% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 13,066 points, equivalent to 20.92%.
