August 6, 2021 (MLN): The local bourse witnessed another lackluster trading day on Friday as investors’ interest was subdued amid lack of positive economic triggers.
The stock market opened on a positive note as investors seemed a bit hopeful after the data released by SBP pertaining to RDA inflows that reached to $1.87billion in 11 months but later market succumbed to selling pressure.
Resultantly, the benchmark KSE100 index shed 150.93 points to close at 47,489.95.
The Index traded in a range of 321.75 points or 0.68 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 47,752.95 and a low of 47,431.20.
Of the 97 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 30 closed up 61 closed down, while 6 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 137.09 million shares.
Sector wise, the index was let down by Technology & Communication with 50 points, Cement with 34 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 28 points, Textile Composite with 18 points and Refinery with 17 points.
The most points taken off the index was by TRG which stripped the index of 32 points followed by UNITY with 25 points, LUCK with 20 points, SYS with 13 points and HUBC with 12 points.
Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 28 points, Glass & Ceramics with 21 points, Engineering with 11 points, Real Estate Investment Trust with 2 points and Insurance with 1 points.
The most points added to the index was by MEBL which contributed 21 points followed by GHGL with 21 points, BAFL with 11 points, MCB with 7 points and INIL with 7 points.
All Share Volume decreased by 47.08 Million to 499.73 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.23.58 Billion.
Total companies traded were 473 compared to 492 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 151 closed up, 300 closed down while 22 remained unchanged.
Total trades decreased by 5,625 to 143,684.
