June 28, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index concluded Friday's trading session at 78,444.96, showing a a decrease of 83.29 points or 0.11%.

The index traded in a range of 471.87 points showing an intraday high of 78,784.23 (+255.98) and a low of 78,312.36 (-215.89) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 206.49 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 45 closed up, 48 closed down, while 7 were unchanged.

KSE-100 index was let down by Commercial Banks (-112.89pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-34.56pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-32.52pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-14.54pts), and Automobile Parts & Accessories (-13.46pts).

On the flip-side, the index was supported by Cement (+36.29pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+34.28pts), Miscellaneous (+29.75pts), Tobacco (+21.18pts), and Pharmaceuticals (+20.74pts).

Companies that dragged the index lower were MCB (-131.09pts), UBL (-61.72pts), HUBC (-41.80pts), OGDC (-36.96pts), and BAHL (-23.03pts).

On the flip-side, the index was supported by FABL (+52.29pts), MEBL (+36.63pts), PSEL (+23.75pts), PAKT (+21.18pts), and PTC (+18.88pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 49,683.75 with a net loss of 196.52 points or 0.40%.

Total market volume was 347.67 million shares compared to 283.54m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs11.90 billion showing an increase of Rs0.83bn.

There were 166,568 trades reported in 435 companies with 189 closing up, 170 closing down, and 76 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 gained 36,992 points or 89.24% during the fiscal year 2023-24, the best yearly gain since FY 2003.
