July 07, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed Friday's trading session at 44,207.31 showing an increase of 28.46 points.

The index traded in a range of 206.77 points showing an intraday high of 44,293.51 and a low of 44,086.74.

It is worth noting that, KSE-100 recorded the second-highest weekly return after April 03, 2020, registering an increase of 6.6% WoW or 2,755 pts, while in USD terms it gained of 9.75%.

Average volumes arrived at 340m shares, up by 47% compared with last week, and the average value traded settled at $41m, up by 63%

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 115.725 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 40 closed up, 49 closed down, 4 were unchanged while 7 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Technology & Communication with 109.02, Miscellaneous with 13.98, Food & Personal Care Products with 10.77, Automobile Assembler with 7.8 and Engineering with 7.55 points.

Companies adding points to the index were TRG with 73.48, POL with 22.26, SYS with 20.96, PSEL with 15.45 and UNITY with 15.01 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution with 42.32, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 14.62, Fertilizer with 13.79, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 13.32 and Commercial Banks with 12.28 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were HUBC with 38.49, ENGRO with 18.51, OGDC with 17.38, PPL with 10.87 and MCB with 8.61 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 29,547.62 with a net gain of 15.42 points.

Total market volume was 247.993 million shares compared to 297.822 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 8.58 billion showing a decrease of Rs.3.85 billion.

There was 117,878 trades reported in 326 companies with 158 closing up, 147 closing down and 21 remaining unchanged.
