December 19, 2022 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index lost 330.66 points to close at 40,970.82 on Monday.

The benchmark KSE-100 index made an intraday high of 41,393.37 and an intraday low of 40,814.95 during the day.

By the session’s end, the total volumes of the KSE-100 index stood at 82.41mn shares, increased by 21.56% DoD from 64.64mn shares traded last week on Friday.

Shares of 88 companies were traded on Monday, of which 65 recorded a fall, 22 registered an increase and one remains unchanged.

In terms of sectors, most of the negative contributors were power gencos, fertilizer, and technology which negatively contributed 153.12 points. On the flip side, the miscellaneous closed the session positively, gaining 48.33 points by the day’s end.

Meanwhile, the volume leaders on the benchmark index were BAFL (29.08mn), KEL (5.06mn), UNITY (3.92mn), PPL (3.22mn), and CNERGY (3.12mn).

The stocks that emerged as net losers during the day included: RMPL (6.75%), NESTLE (32.57%), COLG (1.60%), MTL (4.48%), and MARI (0.82%). On the other hand, the scrips which gained the most during the session included PSEL (6.76%), PAKT (1.04%), ABOT (1.47%), PKGS (1.30%), and HINOON (0.41%).
