August 15, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed Tuesday's trading session at 48,565.75 showing an increase of 141.35 points.

The index traded in a range of 501.1 points showing an intraday high of 48,794.12 and a low of 48,293.02.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 123.699 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 47 closed up, 48 closed down, 2 were unchanged while 3 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Technology & Communication with 118.97, Fertilizer with 47.4, Power Generation & Distribution with 17.95, Automobile Assembler with 9.67 and Textile Composite with 7.0 points.

Companies adding points to the index were SYS with 102.59, FFC with 26.45, LUCK with 23.16, PPL with 22.58 and KEL with 15.69 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks with 29.57, Chemical with 16.84, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 11.32, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 6.17 and Paper & Board with 5.36 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were OGDC with 40.33, MCB with 27.34, DAWH with 10.91, LOTCHEM with 10.59 and COLG with 8.11 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 32,224.93 with a net gain of 87.1 points.

Total market volume was 251.692 million shares compared to 368.335 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 9.04 billion showing a decrease of Rs.8.02 billion.

There was 123,430 trades reported in 338 companies with 159 closing up, 154 closing down and 25 remaining unchanged.
