March 25, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index ended Monday’s trading session at 65,525.65 showing an increase of 373.82 points or 0.57%.

The index remained positive throughout the day, showing an intraday high of 65,656.50 (+504.67) and a low of 65,301.74 (+149.91) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 129.402 million shares.

Advancers to decliners remained equally distributed, with 47 companies closing up and 46 closing down.

Meanwhile 3 were unchanged and 4 remained untraded.

KSE-100 index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 114.5, Commercial Banks with 98.36, Power Generation & Distribution with 93.25, Fertilizer with 62.12, and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 17.26 points.

On the contrary, the index was let down by Cement with 24.09, Leather & Tanneries with 13.62, Miscellaneous with 9.56, Paper & Board with 7.06, and Refinery with 5.22 points.

Companies adding points to the index were HUBC with 77.81, OGDC with 68.93, NBP with 43.75, EFERT with 41.3, and PPL with 36.73 points.

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were SYS with 22.11, LUCK with 19.97, HBL with 15.77, SRVI with 13.62 and PSEL with 9.38 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 43,433.03 with a net gain of 192.25 points.

Total market volume was 261.194 million shares compared to 208.409 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs8.95 billion showing an increase of Rs1.79bn.

There were 109,046 trades reported in 332 companies with 144 closing up, 168 closing down and 20 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 24,073 points or 58.07% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 3,075 points, equivalent to 4.92%.

Last week, the index had gained 335 points or 0.52%.
