PSX Closing Bell: Gates of Tomorrow

Jun 11, 2021 (MNL): After yesterday’s successful performance, the local bourse concluded today’s trade in consolidation as profit-taking was observed in the second half of the session before the budget announcement.

Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) benchmark KSE -100 Index gained only 53 points or 0.11 percent to close at 48,304.72.

According to the market closing note by Topline Securities, skeptical investors came in to book their profit before the budget presentation.

The Index traded in a range of 288.25 points or 0.60 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 48,531.40 and a low of 48,243.15.

Of the 92 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 41 closed up 47 closed down, while 4 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 373.93 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Fertilizer with 44 points, Commercial Banks with 22 points, Refinery with 17 points, Automobile Assembler with 17 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 7 points.

The most points added to the index was by FFC which contributed 19 points followed by EFERT with 17 points, MTL with 16 points, HMB with 13 points and OGDC with 11 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Cement with 28 points, Technology & Communication with 12 points, Textile Composite with 6 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 5 points and Power Generation & Distribution with 4 points.

The most points taken off the index was by TRG which stripped the index of 30 points followed by DGKC with 13 points, PSO with 12 points, PPL with 10 points and LUCK with 9 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 15.14 Million to 1024.22 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.7.89 Billion.

Total companies traded were 413 compared to 417 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 200 closed up, 195 closed down while 18 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 893 to 210,737.

Value Traded decreased by 1.47 Billion to Rs.24.88 Billion
