PMEX: Trading activity increases by 13.63% DoD

PMEX trading volume hits Rs24.1bn on Friday

May 21, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Monday increased by 13.63% DoD to stand at Rs21.73 billion with the number of lots traded at 19,504. 

While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,999, up by 1.28% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs13.75bn. Following closely behind, Currencies through COTS recorded trading valued at Rs1.4bn.

Silver also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs2.33bn. In addition, Nasdaq 100, Crude Oil and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors, and their transactions stood at around Rs1bn, Rs1bn, and Rs1.47bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs111.15m, DJ at Rs267.72m, Copper at Rs236.3m, S&P 500 at Rs63.8m and Brent at Rs17.71m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 15 lots amounting to Rs15.91m changing hands.
