PM Shehbaz to visit Uzbekistan for bilateral talks

February 24, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Uzbekistan are set to strengthen their bilateral relations as Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif embarks on an official visit to Uzbekistan on 25-26 February 2025, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister and other cabinet members.

During the bilateral meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will discuss all areas of cooperation, including connectivity, economic ties, trade, investment, energy, defence and security, regional stability, and education.

The leaders will also exchange views on regional and international matters of mutual interest. Several bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed, according to the press release issued today.

As part of the visit, the Prime Minister will address the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum, where leading businessmen from both countries will participate in B2B meetings to enhance bilateral trade and explore new opportunities for economic collaboration.

Pakistan and Uzbekistan share deep-rooted historical, cultural, and religious ties, along with a mutual aspiration for peace and development.

The visit highlights Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Uzbekistan by fostering greater economic collaboration and identifying new avenues of partnership, aligning with a strategic vision for regional integration and economic prosperity.
