PKR settles stable at 277.75 against USD

November 25, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) remained stable against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.75 per USD.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 277.90 and a low (ask) of 277.80.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 276.98 for buying and 278.77 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 1.08 rupees or 0.37% against the Euro, closing at 290.28 compared to the previous value of 291.36.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 54.96 paisa or 0.16% to 348.82 compared to 349.37 a day ago.

The local unit gained 1.98 rupees or 0.63% against Swiss franc to close at 311.59.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 0.31 paisa or 0.17% to close the session at 1.7971 versus 1.7940 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 0.45 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.33 from 38.33.

The local currency increased by 0.36 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 73.97. While it appreciated by 0.18 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.62.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has rose against the US Dollar by 58.85 paisa or 0.21%. While it has increased 4.11 rupees or 1.48% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 4bps to 13.34% and 13.59%.
