PKR gains 22 paisa per USD

April 10, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 21.69 paisa or 0.08% against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.56 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.77.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.75 and a low (ask) of 280.35.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.35 for buying and 282.15 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR depreciated 40.67 paisa or 0.13% against the Euro, closing at 309.26 compared to the previous value of 308.85.

Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 2.01 rupees or 0.56% to 361.12 compared to 359.11 a day ago.

The local unit rose 1.88 rupees or 0.57% against Swiss franc to close at 330.01.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 0.89 paisa or 0.46% to close the session at 1.9180 versus 1.9269 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 0.19 paisa or 0.00% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.20 from 38.20.

The local currency strengthened by 5.19 paisa or 0.07% against Saudi Riyal to 74.74. While it increased by 5.80 paisa or 0.08% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.38.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has weakened against the US Dollar by 2.22 rupees or 0.79%. While it has decreased 2.01 rupees or 0.72% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 11.86% and 12.11%.
