PKR gains 11 paisa against USD

April 16, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) rose by 10.51 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.46 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.57.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.60 and a low (ask) of 280.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.00 for buying and 282.15 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 6.30 paisa or 0.02% against the Euro, closing at 319.01 compared to the previous value of 318.95.

Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 1.12 rupees or 0.30% to 372.36 compared to 371.23 a day ago.

The local unit strengthened 17.11 paisa or 0.05% against the Swiss franc to close at 344.08.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 1.20 paisa or 0.61% to close the session at 1.9719 versus 1.9599 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 8.17 paisa or 0.21% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.29 from 38.38.

The local currency increased by 2.99 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 74.74. While it appreciated by 2.86 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.36.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 2.12 rupees or 0.76%. While it has deteriorated 1.91 rupees or 0.68% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.83% and 12.08%.
