PKR decreases by 15 paisa against USD

April 21, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 15.17 paisa or 0.05% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.87 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.72.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.80 and a low (ask) of 280.85.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.50 for buying and 282.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR decreased 5.27 rupees or 1.65% against the Euro, closing at 324.45 compared to the previous value of 319.18.

Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 4.23 rupees or 1.14% to 376.62 compared to 372.39 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 5.81 rupees or 1.69% against Swiss franc to close at 348.75.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 2.56 paisa or 1.30% to close the session at 1.9973 versus 1.9717 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 7.92 paisa or 0.21% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.54 from 38.46.

The local currency fell by 4.04 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 74.86. While it decreased by 4.14 paisa or 0.05% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.47.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 2.53 rupees or 0.90%. While it has fell 2.32 rupees or 0.83% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates remain unchanged at 11.84% and 12.09%.
